Journal 31 - Why did California become a state so quickly? What year was it?

Journal 32 – How did the United States change in the 1800s compared to the Antebellum way of life? Use “Preface Antebellum” and the following words: Antebellum, Andrew Jackson, democracy, vote, industrialization, happiness.

Journal 33 – Read the handout on “Expansionism” and take a stand: for or against Expansionism. Explain why you chose that stand. (1897)
