Objectives:
- Students will analyze the economic challenges to American farmers and farmers’ responses to the challenges in the mid to late 1800s.

- 3. Have students share the completed note-taking guide (Attachment B). Teachers may want to guide students when completing the notes, have students work in small groups, or independently. (rest of class)
